I Can't Get to You From Here
Cover by TinkGerman
I CAN'T GET TO YOU FROM HERE STEPHEN CHANDLER, FRED KNIPE
I'm glad you called me, I still feel your voice G Em
Touch something inside me but I have no choice C D
But to tell you I'm no longer one of boys Em G
And I can't get to you from here C D G
Now I don't think you'd know me to see me up close
I've built me a family and I don't like to boast
But I'm all settled into what I need the most
And I can't get to you from here
I can't turn back the years Em m
And get crazy again with nothing to fear C D
Easy as that might appear Em m
I can't turn my back on the love living here Dm Am D
I only bet when I've got all the cards
I don't take on all comers when they come on too hard
I'm a daddy and a voter and I go to bed tired
And I can't get to you from here
CHORUS
Well I'm glad you called but it's sad in a way
To still fell the flame when there's nothing to say
The world we once lived in's now so far away
That I can't get to you from here

Fingerstyle Lessons by The Guitar Nick
"Nicest Classic Fingerstyle" (that's what Nick is calling it, anyway) tab Nick says "This acoustic fingerstyle classic studio is one of my favorites, its chords progression is really nice and I never tired of playing it. The main technical difficulties are at the second measure where there is a discrete enlargement of the left hand. The fourth measure is also challenging because it takes all your fingers."

"We Are The Many" by Makana chords and lyrics (no tabs)
Music by Makana, Chords by Summer Gypsy
The minute I heard this song early yesterday, I knew I had to learn it. When I couldn't find the chords anywhere, I figured them out ... (at least what sounds about right to me). Here are the chords along with the lyrics.
(Note: This song is by Hawaiian guitarist, Makana, who says he put his fears aside and listened to his heart when he chose to repeatedly sing his protest song, "We Are the Many," to world leaders gathered for an APEC dinner Saturday. "At the half-way point, I just had the urge to play it," Makana told Civil Beat. "I didn't want to be rude about it, but I wanted to sing this song to these people. At first, I was very, very, very nervous — there was Secret Service everywhere.")
Makana plays this in the Key of G with the capo on 9th fret...
which gives it that nice high ukulele-like sound.... if you want to try a lower sound, see the end of the post for how to play in A instead (or transpose however you like)

The bidding of the many, not the few
Our nation was built upon the right
Of every person to improve their plight
But laws of this Republic they rewrite
And now a few own everything in sight
They own it free of liability
They own, but they are not like you and me
Their influence dictates legality
And until they are stopped we are not free
We'll occupy the streets
We'll occupy the courts
We'll occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few
You enforce your monopolies with guns
While sacrificing our daughters and sons
But certain things belong to everyone
Your thievery has left the people none
So take heed of our notice to redress
We have little to lose, we must confess
Your empty words do leave us unimpressed
A growing number join us in protest
We occupy the streets
We occupy the courts
We occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few
You can't divide us into sides
And from our gaze, you cannot hide
Denial serves to amplify
And our allegiance you can't buy
Our government is not for sale
The banks do not deserve a bail
We will not reward those who fail
We will not move till we prevail
We'll occupy the streets
We'll occupy the courts
We'll occupy the offices of you
Till you do
The bidding of the many, not the few

A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall by Edie Brickell
original
From: Harlan L Thompson
A HARD RAIN'S A GONNA FALL- Bob Dylan
E A E
Oh, where have you been, my blue eyed son?
E B
Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?
A E
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
A E I've walked and I've crawled on six crooked highways A E
I've stepped in the middle of seven sad forests
A E
I've been out in front of a dozen dead oceans
A E
I've been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard
E B E A
And it's a hard, and it's a hard, it's a hard, and it's a hard
E B E A E
And it's a hard rain's a gonna fall
Oh, what did you see, my blue eyed son?
Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?
I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it
I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it
I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin'
I saw a room full of men with their hammers a bleedin'
I saw a white ladder all covered with water
I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken
I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children
And it's a hard, and it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard
And it's a hard rain's a gonna fall
And what did you hear, my blue eyed son?
And what did you hear, my darling young one?
I heard the sound of a thunder, it roared out a warnin'
Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world
Heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a blazin'
Heard ten thousand whisperin' and nobody listenin'
Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin'
Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter
Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley
And it's a hard, and it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard
And it's a hard rain's a gonna fall
Oh, who did you meet, my blue eyed son?
Who did you meet, my darling young one?
I met a young child beside a dead pony
I met a white man who walked a black dog
I met a young woman whose body was burning
I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow
I met one man who was wounded in love
I met another man who was wounded with hatred
And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard
It's a hard rain's a gonna fall
Oh, what'll you do now, my blue eyed son?
Oh, what'll you do now, my darling young one?
I'm a goin' back out 'fore the rain starts a fallin'
I'll walk to the depths of the deepest black forest
Where the people are many and their hands are all empty
Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters
Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison
Where the executioner's face is always well hidden
Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten
Where black is the color, where none is the number
And I'll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it
And reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it
Then I'll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin'
But I'll know my song well before I start singin'
And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard
It's a hard rain's a gonna fall
